Domaine Vincent Wengier

Our latest arrival is from dynamic second-generation grower Vincent Wengier.

As delicious as you would expect for high quality Chablis, this wine also offers excellent value in the context of the region's ever escalating prices.

Domaine Vincent Wengier 2022 Chablis

"Here’s a well-crafted modern Chablis with plenty of ripe pear fruit and refreshing, but very well integrated lemony acidity that the touch of tannin at the finish neatly underlines..."
James Suckling

From a 10ha parcel of Wengier family vines on clay-limestone over Kimmeridgian clay, planted over 40 years ago in the commune of Préhy - a few minutes drive south of the Chablis Grand Cru slope near the village of Courgis.

After a month-long cool fermentation and naturally occurring malolactic fermentation, the wine rested on lees for eight months in stainless steel prior to bottling.

Certified organic in 2023, and certified HEV (High Environmental Value) in 2019

"Linearity, purity, liveliness: the three pillars of this exceptional Chablis. The concentrated nose releases aromas as intense as they are fine of citrus fruits, white flowers and oyster shells. Minerality appears on the palate to support a silky, elegant material; notes of flint recall the terroir and the well-melted acidity rounds the corners. Made of lace. 2024-2028"
Les Guide Hachette des Vins

"Deep, elegant and complex, this beguiling bouquet offers expressive scents of almond, ripe citrus and vanilla, in a charming and eloquent ensemble, which arouses and tickles the desire to taste. We appreciate the vinosity and fatness of this rich and almost opulent cuvée, whose ripe fruit (pear, citrus) finds its balance in a very present acidity which tightens a finish of appreciable length."
